Using a flat head screw driver assemble the roof rails to the top of the car by sxrewing the side rails and the cross bars together. There are a variety of kayak roof racks on the market everything from j cradles stackers and saddle racks. An important decision can be choosing between steel aluminum and wood. After checking through my supply of junk i found some brackets that are used to mount satellite dishes to roofs or walls.

The next accessory i made for the roof rack was a kayak rack. If you have factory roof racks that run from front to back you can build your own steel crossmembers using one inch square tubing cut to size and secured to the factory racks using carriage bolts. Ensure that the roof rack is in position and properly adjusted leaving good space at the centre. You ll need to do some welding and metal cutting for a homemade roof rack as well.
