If the door lock assembly clicks but the door doesn t lock it s likely that the door lock assembly is broken.
The door lock assembly on a front load washer includes a safety switch that detects whether the washer door is closed a latch and a locking mechanism.
If a component fails with the door is closed the door won t open.
Were you using a fresh hold cycle available on some models.
To determine if the door lock has failed electrically use a multimeter to test each of the door lock switches for continuity.
When using one of these cycles the door will remain locked until the cancel button is pushed.
If not call for service.
If one of the switches does not have continuity replace the switch.
Inspect the door lock for damage.
